Using chilled beaters, beat mixture on high speed about 2 minutes or until soft peaks begin to form. Gradually beat in sugar; continue beating about 3 minutes or until soft peaks form. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes; mixture thickens as it cools. Serve topping over desserts as desired. Variations: Add 1 tablespoon raspberry, caramel, chocolate or strawberry syrup with water; reduce vanilla to 1/2 teaspoon and sugar to 2 tablespoons. |
